Upon arrival I spoke with Mrs. Corzine about the reason for todays visit. They are most interested in having their ducts cleaned because they had some construction done upstairs and they want to have it all cleaned out. They also wanted quotes on new furnace equipment and the notes also stated that wanted pricing on a new gas water heater. My Field Supervisor Scott arrived and we went through and checked out the entire system. We found a crack in the heat exchanger which caused us to have to red tag the furnace because it is not safe to operate because of carbon monoxide leaks from the heat exchanger. Scott went up and checked in the attic because they have a water leaking from upstairs in the attic and it’s most likely coming from the exhaust from the furnace. I believe they had a friend come over and look at that and he thought it was the same thing. Joel was not able to attend todays visit so, Scott scheduled a time to meet with them on Monday to return and present options/answering

Upon arrival I began the heating tune up. First, I did a static pressure test on the system and it was passing at .4 on a .5 maximum rating system. Cleaned the flame sensor. Checked the running amps on the inducer motor and blower motor and both were within specifications. I had a nice temperature split at 37 degrees which is within specs as well. I checked then Heat Exchanger and the Evaporator Coil and both looked to be very clean at this time. My Field Supervisor Fletch arrived for a “happy call”. Fletch helped me lower the fan speed for the cooling side of the system and the static pressure is now passing on the heating and cooling sides which is great! For this job, I was checking in on a system that was not cooling. this was due to the fact that a wire outside was shorting out on the casing of the AC unit. I fixed this issue, but as I was checking the air temperature and static pressure I noticed that the static pressure was very high. With a very large lack of airflow in the upstairs, it was clear that the system is overworking itself and not pulling in nor pushing out enough air. I called the supervisor to investigate this issue further and come up with a good solution.
