Arrived to perform previously diagnosed repairs. Pulled the blower assembly from the furnace and set up the template for the uv bulb.cut the hole for the uv bulb to protrude into the return. Pulled the blower motor from the blower assembly and took the blower wheel and housing outside. Removed the hail guard from the condenser. Performed an extensive cleaning on the condenser coil and cleaned up the blower housing and wheel. Reassembled the condenser and dried off the blower and brought it back inside. Installed the blower motor on the housing and wheel. Mounted it inside the furnace and wired everything back to the furnace control board. Mounted the ballast for the uv bulb and installed the bulb itself. Ran the power wire for the uv bulb and connected it to the control board. Fired up the system and made sure everything is operating properly. Air conditioning system is functioning properly at this time.

Arrived to do a performance maintenance. Started inspection inside and measured a temperature split between return and supply air. Measured power consumption of the blower motor and checked system for cleanliness. Found that the blower wheel is coated in dust debris and there is bacterial growth present on the evaporator condensation pan. Performed a static pressure test and found that the system is operating well outside manufacturers specifications. Tried to relive this static pressure by changing the filter and opening all vents in the house. Found that the system is compliant with factory specifications afterwards. Went outside and verified system refrigerant charge. Verified operation of all mechanical and electronic components of the condenser.Rinsed condenser free of debris. Spoke with homeowner about concerns with the system. With homeowners approval set a time to return and complete repairs. Installed smart ac system. Air conditioning system is operational at this time.

Arrived to remedy a banging noise from a compressor when it starts up and turns off. Performed diagnosis on the outside unit and found that the capacitor is failing and the system is running on the cusp of being low on refrigerant. With as dirty as the outside coil is expect that once it is cleaned the system will likely freeze up. Went inside to check airflow. Found that the system is operating with failing static pressure. This can contribute to some of the issues the compressor is experiencing. Performed diagnostic on the furnace to ensure that once repairs are made the system will continue to operate without issue. Found that the furnace fan is heavily coated in dust debris and the evaporator coil is also impacted with dust debris. Found that the capacitor in for the fan is failing and found that the vent pipe for the furnace has a hole in it which will allow carbon monoxide into the home. Reached out to a field supervisor to provide a diagnosis on the systems static pressure. Cons

Called homeowner Scott to see if he had a chance to call Hamiltons to check on his warranty with them. He did speak with them yesterday and they told him they would fix it under warranty. He said if he needs anything in the future he will give us a call. This job is complete for now. Have a great week!

Upon arrival I began the AC tune up.I checked the static pressure and it was failing at 1.0 out of a maximum of 1.0. I opened all vents and put a high velocity filter in it and the static pressure came down to a .7 which is within specifications. Next I moved the the outdoor unit. I found it to be very low on refrigerant which means we have a leak somewhere. I used my refrigerant sniffer on the evaporator coil inside but got no hits. I used soap and bubbles also but didn’t get any hits. Our only option was to add UV leak dye and recharge the system. Since Bob Hamilton installed the system 3 to 4 years ago he believes it’s still under warranty which makes sense in my experience with Hamiltons. He will be calling them to check his warranty. If we don’t hear from him, I will call on Friday morning to see what he found out and if he needs me to come back out or not. Any questions or concerns please feel free to call us!

During this visit I discovered that the low voltage fuse had blown. I replaced the fuse with a resettable fuse and the unit returned to normal function. After that the unit was shut off and each contactor coil was measured and the contactors were checked for smooth engagement. The secondary control amps for the complete control circuit is pulling 1.03amps and that is within proper range. The cause of the blown fuse was not found today. I was just out on this unit not that long ago and there was no sign of secondary voltage proble,s that day as well. At this time the unit is functioning properly and is cycling on and off via the thermostat. Checked all operations in heating mode and inspected the furnace filter. Checked static pressure and found that it wasnt passing so the customer and I went around the home to make sure all vents were open and dampers and I changed out the filter. I did my retest and found that it still wasn’t passing so with customers approval we will have a field supervisor come out to evaluate. Checked all electrical components and preformed an combustion analysis. I checked the heat exchanger and found that it didnt have cracks or rust on it. The blower wheel did have some buildup of dirt and corrosion on it. All electrical components were operating properly and the furnace fuel was burning properly as well.

Heating System Repair: I encountered a situation where a customer's heat pump was not defrosting properly, causing a decline in heating efficiency. Upon investigation, it became evident that the defrost sensor was malfunctioning. Taking swift action, I replaced the sensor and fine-tuned the heat pump, restoring its efficient operation. The client now enjoys a comfortably heated home, and to ensure continued performance, I recommended periodic heat pump maintenance to prevent similar issues in the future.
