Upon arrival i began the furnace tune up. First, I ran a static pressure test. This system has a max rating of 1.0 static pressure and it is testing at .84 total which is a little high but very close to passing. Next, I checked the running amps on the inducer which was within specs but the inducer makes some poor loud noises at random, then goes back to normal. The running amps on the blower are within specs but the blower has gotten dirty and should be cleaned. Next, I ran a CO test and I got a hit at 28ppm. I then got pictures of the heat exchanger and found lots of black hot spots and I found a few concerning places where CO is leaking from. I then had my Field Supervisor Jamie come by to retest the unit for CO. His meter also got a hit at 25ppm, same as mine which confirms we have a leak. Any amount of CO is not safe as you know from personal experience. Jamie is working on finding a solution that will work for you. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call us!
Today the rooftop unit that serves the middle of the warehouse was diagnosed with a failed inducer motor. The voltage to the motor was checked and is in range.
